About Us

History

Keizer is a kindergarten through fifth-grade school with an enrollment that averages around 600 students. Bilingual and Child Care services are available, and our nickname is the Colts.

Keizer Elementary opened in 1973. It was named for the then-suburb of Salem. In 1982 the residents of Keizer voted to incorporate and Keizer is now its own city. It was named for Thomas Keizer, a North Carolian who was a leader in the emigration of 1843 and member of the legislative committee in 1844.
